These guidelines explain how staff should handle promotions and links across the server.

Promo channels

  • Promo channels are for tweets, videos, and other social media content.
  • Content is allowed as long as it is not inappropriate and follows server rules.
  • Discord invite links are not allowed in promo channels.
  • Off-topic content, self-promo misuse, or invite links should be removed.
  • Posting promotional content more than 3 times within 1 hour is considered excessive.

General chat

  • Links (Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) must be directly relevant to the current conversation.
  • Self promotion is not allowed in general chat.
  • Irrelevant or promotional links should be deleted without warning.

Networking channels

  • Discord invite links are allowed only in networking channels.
  • Links must be relevant to the user’s team, organisation, or business.
  • Reposting the same link or posting across multiple channels counts as spam.

Spam handling

  • Wick automatically deletes repeated or spammed links.
  • If a user continues after automatic deletions, staff should intervene.
  • Timeouts or further action may be applied if behaviour continues.

Staff promotion

Being a staff member does not exempt you from promotion rules. Staff must follow the same promo and spam limits as regular members.

Staff expectations

  • Enforce rules consistently.
  • Do not make exceptions without management approval.
  • When unsure, remove the content first and clarify after.
